This Veterans Day, we’re reminded that service isn’t defined by a single story. It’s woven from the countless threads of experience from every branch, every era, and every individual who chose to wear the uniform.

For a long time, many of us wondered about the “why.” Why the small gestures of thanks? Why the free cup of coffee? But the truth we’ve come to understand is this: it was never about the specific battles we fought or the specific jobs we held. It’s about the collective choice to serve, to be part of something far greater than ourselves—a machine whose true importance we can’t always fathom.

Your story is vital. Your contribution, no matter how big or small it may seem to you, matters. You matter.

So this year, let’s silence the second-guessing. When someone offers a simple “thank you” or a token of appreciation, let’s accept it with a full heart. Let’s recognize it for what it is: a nation’s gratitude for the shared commitment we all made.

To every man and woman who has ever raised their hand and put on the uniform—from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You are worth it. We believe in you. And we honor you today and every day.

Happy Veterans Day.
