I’m Dr. Kevin P. Wallace. Two days before we light the candles for America’s 250th birthday, I’m coming home to Boston to share the souls of 317 heroes.

We drove a beat-up old FedEx van around the full circumference of the Earth—27,000 miles of blood, sweat, and gasoline. It wasn’t easy. We broke down more times than I can count. But every single time we met a Gold Star Family or a Bronze Star recipient, I knew we were on holy ground.
